Sphere Studios Wins Coveted Business Award
London - November 2002: Sphere Studios has beaten off 11 other award
winners to take the overall prize in Wandsworth Council's Business
Awards.
London's newest music recording and mixing facility, which
has recently hosted sessions for UNKLE, Queen and Cirque du Soleil
was presented with the award by London Tonight's Anne-Marie Ashe.
The ceremony took place at the Town Hall Civic Suite and was attended
by winners across all categories. Sphere was both a category winner
Most Outstanding Export and overall winner, carrying off the coveted
Most Outstanding Business in Wandsworth award.
Sphere Studios, which
incorporates three main recording studios, six programming suites
and high speed secure international connectivity facilities, was
officially opened in 2001 and has quickly gained a reputation for
excellence.
Malcolm Atkin, managing director of Sphere, says: "The
achievement marks the hard work that all the staff have put into
making Sphere Studios a business success".
The Wandsworth Council Business Awards are an annual event open to
all 17,000 businesses in the Borough. Vanessa Grome, chief executive
of Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce, says: "This event provides an
opportunity to recognise the hard work of local business that makes
Wandsworth the place it is."
